What is the purpose: The purpose of this Scholarship Fund is to help tax professionals in the
State of Florida get Continuing Education through the Florida NATP Chapter.

How do we plan to accomplish this? The goal is to provide scholarships to attend FL NATP
Chapter conferences. The scholarship would cover the registration fees to the conference. At first, we plan to offer scholarships to tax professionals that have never attended a Florida NATP Chapter conference. There will be an application process to ensure fairness and that the funds will be used correctly. The more money we raise, the more scholarships we can offer. The goal is to add other scholarships in the future, such as scholarships for new business owners, employees of large companies and any other way to help tax professionals get the education they need.

How can we afford to do this? In order to do this, we will be having fundraisers. We will take donations; at conferences we will have raffles; if your cell phone rings during a conference lecture, we’ll collect that $5 fine and put it toward the scholarship fund. We do most of these things already and donate the money to recognized charities (such as Doctors Without Borders), but now we will put the money into our Scholarship Fund. The more money we raise, the more we can give back to our tax professional community.

How did we come up with the name for this fund? Both John and Bibi Rudestedt have been
very active with our Chapter and have spent many years dedicating their time and efforts toward the growth of the Florida Chapter through Education. We wanted to honor their legacy of focusing on the growth of our Chapter through Education. Education is an important part of our business so we want to make sure that the tax professionals in our community have access to outstanding education which John and Bibi have worked so hard to provide.
