Leadership

The Chapter relies on an entirely volunteer leadership to plan and run its activities. We welcome the input and participation of our members in a variety of roles, including officers, directors, committees, and ambassadors. If you’d like to participate, email hello@flnatp.com.

Committees

Committees provide smaller, function-based working groups to manage much of the Chapter’s work. The Board of Directors establishes committees, and the President appoints members and chairs. Any current Chapter member is eligible to serve on a committee.

Education
The Education Committee plans the Chapter’s educational events, including selecting speakers, choosing locations, and negotiating group rates. Current members include Nancy Anderson, EA; Kenneth Dowdall, EA; Elen Faris, CPA; Jeremy Wells, EA, CPA; and Laura Wood, EA (chair).

Bylaws and Policy Manual
The Bylaws and Policy Manual Committee drafts and reviews the Chapter’s governing documents. Current members include Amy Brosnan, EA; and Elen Faris, CPA (chair).

Membership and Hospitality
The Membership and Hospitality Committee welcomes new members to the Chapter and plans social receptions at Chapter events. Current members include Amy Brosnan, EA; and Judy White, EA (chair).

Government Relations
The Government Relations Committee oversees national, state, and local government policy that affects Florida tax professionals and taxpayers and drafts advocacy positions on behalf the Chapter’s members. Current members include Kenneth Dowdall, EA (chair); and Mark Miller, CPA.

Scholarship
The Scholarship Committee oversees the John and Bibi Rudestedt Chapter Growth Scholarship, which awards free registrations to Chapter events to deserving attendees. Current members include Nancy Anderson, EA; Doris Dimon, EA (chair); and Elen Faris, CPA.

Nominations
The Nominations Committee recruits candidates for Chapter leadership positions. Current members include Nancy Anderson, EA; Kenneth Dowdall, EA (chair); and Mark Miller, CPA.

Budget and Finance
The Budget and Finance Committee oversees the Chapter’s financial resources and operations. Current members include Nancy Anderson, EA; Jeremy Wells, EA, CPA (chair); and Mark Miller, CPA (ex officio).

Social Media, Technology, Networking, and Communication
The Social Media, Technology, Networking, and Communication Committee oversees the promotion of Chapter events and activities. Current members include Elen Faris, CPA; and Jeremy Wells, EA, CPA (chair).

Ambassadors
In 2023, the Chapter created the Ambassador role to foster local networking among its members. Ambassadors receive financial and promotional support for the Chapter to provide recurring social networking events for their local area, such as a city or county.
